Pepsi Paloma
Ngayon ko lang din nalaman yung tungkol sa Pepsi Paloma rape case.
In 1982, Joey de Leon along with Vic Sotto and Richie D'Horsie made headlines when underaged actress Pepsi Paloma accused the trio of gang raping her. The case was settled out of court and the trio made a public apology to Paloma. Paloma committed suicide by hanging herself in 1985.
When the Wowowee scam erupted in August 2007, Willie Revillame criticized de Leon for his frequent attacks of his show and claimed that even if he was charged with harassment, de Leon was charged with something else that Revillame implied was much worse. Revillame did not say and elaborate what the charge was. Many believed Revillame was alluding to the rape case filed by Pepsi Paloma in 1982.[1]. In his Startalk interview, Joey maintained his innocence and challenged Revillame to specify the case that he was alluding to in his show. Revillame subsequently apologized to de Leon for his speech attacking de Leon.

Tito Sotto's talent in politics was first tested on October 1982 when he spearheaded the settlement for the rape case filed by sexy stars Pepsi Paloma and Guada Guarin against Tito's younger brother Vic Sotto and his "Eat Bulaga" co hosts Joey de Leon and Richie D'Horsie. In the case records, the rape case was made known when Pepsi Paloma's mother approached Atty. Rene "Compañero" Cayetano (father of senators Alan Peter Cayetano & Pia Cayetano) to ask for legal assistance to achieve justice for her daughter who was molested by the three hosts of "Eat Bulaga".
When it was made known that the case is being filed by the former senator Cayetano to the Fiscal of Quezon City, the teenage starlet disappeared, but was expeditiously recovered by the men of Col. Rolando Abadilla and Capt. Panfilo Lacson, who is presently a senator, of MISG from the hands of notorious hoodlum Ben Ulo. The name of the Sotto's leaked when Ben Ulo admitted that he is an accomplice to the Castelos, maternal clan of Tito and Vic.
According to Pepsi Paloma, it was mainly Tito Sotto who coerced her to sign the affidavit of desistance to throw out the filing of the rape case, which is punishable by death penalty. Justice was stopped from moving when the comedians humbly made a public apology to the judge to where they admitted to the crime committed to the starlet, who committed suicide by hanging herself afterwards due to the trauma she experienced from the hands of the comedians.

The case was dropped daw because it was settled out of court (like what was quoted above says) and/or mahina daw yung defense ni Paloma. Gosh, I don't know what really happened, but if they really didn't rape her, why did they apologize publicly? What's with Paloma's abduction?
I really pity Pepsi Paloma. She bared it all at the age 14, had abortion at 15, and committed suicide at 17. Based on the chismis on the internets, she hanged herself daw because of the injustice she had undergone and/or she was blacklisted in showbiz because the three alleged rapists were of course, at that time (and even up to now) powerful figures in the said industry.
I'm so pissed off by people who were saying that Pepsi Paloma's a hooker (?) and a bold star anyway so no one should really care if she really got raped.
Eraserhead's Spoliarium is said to be an allusion to Pepsi's rape case.
If you wanna know what this song actually means, I could share it with you. Professors here in the University of the Philippines know about it and they share it in class whenever the song comes in discussions. It is actually the story of the rape victim Pepsi who were allegedly raped by Vic, Joey, and someone –I forgot the name. She was made to drink too much by the three (this is described in the first 3 stanzas of the song) and when she was unconscious, they raped her. Pepsi died when she was about to cry out for justice. There were rumors that Pepsi did not commit suicide but she was killed to stop her from testifying in court. So after knowing that, the song is pretty much direct except for some parts like “itigil muna ang pag-ikot ng mundo”. We can interpret this part differently. It can mean that the victim wanted her oppressors to stop their manipulations or she was just too tired of everything that’s happening that she wanted the world to just stop.
Pepsi was not able to receive justice. Until now, there is no closure to her case. And whether Vic and Joey were guilty, no one can prove it.
I assume Ely Buendia, who wrote the song, learned about Pepsi’s misery when he was still in the university. Maybe for him, even if Pepsi was not able to testify, the song would speak out the truth. (http://aragonasten.wordpress.com/2008/06/29/spolarium-by-eraserheads/)
But..according to the person I'm going to quote below, the song's about an inuman session.
Enteng was one of the Eraserheads roadies that time; Joey a.k.a. Cowpunk, a classmate of Raims, was a member of the Eraserheads posse. So, no, this has no reference whatsoever to (Tito) Vic or Joey. And most especially Pepsi Paloma. I’m appalled that, as “Gold” said, this is what professors in UP are spreading. I hope they stop.
The song is more literal than you think. I guess everyone is just used to the Eheads always being cryptic in their songs, so when a literal song is finally written people can’t help but search for hidden meaning. Unfortunately in this particular song, there is none.
ps
“Gintong alak” is Goldschläger, very strong Italian cinnamon schnapps which is one of the culprits for the intoxication that evening.

What bothers me is Tito Sotto's senatorial candidacy and the probability of him winning the post. I just feel kind of uneasy knowing that the person who helped these supposedrapists will most probably get hold (again, if ever he wins and if ever the three really were guilty) of some political power which he might wield to do what he did in 1982.
The thing that we should be more bothered about is the existence of people (not just men)who are the embodiment of the devil/s that Joey, Vic, and Horsie allegedly are. There are a lot of them treading our planet right now and I think I've met some of them, and some of them have the so-called makapal na mukha. Trying to paint themselves a saint pa. Chos! Haha. Echos lang talaga. Swear.....
